Hi ya! My name is Baby. I know it’s a bit childish, but that’s what happens when a 2 year old names you. We tried to convince him of other names, but he got upset if I was called anything but “baby” or ‘baby kitty”. So now I’m Baby.

I’m a kitten that was in the right place at the right time. I had somehow gotten separated from my mother and I was huddled next to a house trying to keep warm. I was crying and crying, but no one came. Then finally a nice women scooped me up and put me in her car. She happened to be the shelter manager at Francisvale and was doing a home visit for a dog at the same house I was so desperately clinging to.

So for the past 5 weeks I’ve been living with one of the staff members. It has been great! I have so many playmates. I have 3 cats, a dog, and a toddler to keep me occupied. I love to play. I run around and zoom up and down the steps. I love to wrestle with the other cats in the house.

The beagle and I like to strategize about how we are going to get our next treat. I love to eat. I even know where the treat drawer is located. I’ve know that since I was 8 weeks old. I will meow so loud sometimes, that it’s hard to ignore me and my plea for yummies.

Back to the two year old. He’s a great kid. He loves me so much. He feeds me and kisses me and even carries me around the house. We love to play with the laser light together(he chases it too, lol). We are great pals.

Anyway, unfortunately my time at my foster home is coming to an end and now it’s time to find my forever home. I would love to meet you and see if I could become a part of your family. I would really enjoy living in a home with other animals. I think I would be so bored and lonely if I was the only animal in the house. So please keep that in mind.

Bring Home Double the Love on this Valentines Day

In honor of the holiday of love, Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals will be running a Valentine Special in hopes that some of our loving couples can go to their forever homes together. For the month of February cat adoption donations will be 2 for 1. Adopt one cat and if you choose to adopt a friend there will be no adoption donation for that second animal.

Cous Cous

Cous Cous came to Francisvale when his owners passed away. He’s a friendly dog and loves to sit in someone’s lap. And if you have a treat, even better. He does bark a lot when there is a lot of commotion. When the other 3 dogs are playing in the office, Cous Cous just feels the need to tell everyone what he thinks about the situation. He’s a cute little guy and would love to find a new home.

Teddy is a sweet and playful dog. He is a little wary of new people. He was given to our shelter because the owner couldn’t fit him into her life and schedule.

Teddy has some issues when you touch his neck or collar. Apparently he use to be tugged on and pulled around by his collar and now he’s afraid it will happen again. He is getting much better. If he trust you and you go slow then it’s not an issue.

Teddy likes being around kids, but because of the collar issue we will be placing him in a home without small children.

Hi, I’m Natalia and I just want to go to my new home. I thought my last family was going to be my forever family, but they moved away and decided not to take me. I don’t know why. It made me so sad. I thought I was part of the family. Usually when you are part of a family you don’t get left behind. For the longest time I thought I did something wrong. But after some reassuring I’m convinced it wasn’t my fault. I’m hoping the day will come soon when a new family will take me home and love me forever. And I hope it’s the real forever, not the forever unless we have to move kind of family. I’m a really sweet girl. I promise I’ll give you as much love as I possibly can. I’m also very fun and love to play.

* Natalia can be a little protective in the home with the ones she loves. She could use some training to let her know that people visiting the home are o.k.

Spot is a happy go lucky kind of dog. He loves going for walks and being around people. He was pulled and tugged on too much by younger children and now would rather not have to live with them. Dogs scare him too. He would love to be the center of attention in his home. He will give his undivided love to whomever takes him home.

Hello, my name is Cassie. All I really want in life is someone who wants to be with me. I’ve been alone a lot in life and just really need some companionship. I was brought to Francisvale so I could get that opportunity. My owner was not able to give me what I needed and so desperately wanted. She traveled so much and I was often left alone. I’ve gotten a lot of attention at the shelter, but it’s still not the same as having a home to call my own. I get very sad when I’m alone in the office. I hear people walking around in the hallway and I just want them to open the door and come and spend time with me. I’m currently living with 11 cats, but their company just doesn’t do it for me. If you have some extra time in your life and you need someone to share it with, consider coming to meet me. I bet I will fill a void that you didn’t even know existed.

P.S. I love treats and belly rubs
