Having just turned nine in February, this old salt has logged a lot of miles under his collar but that just means Nemo’s rich with personality and the wisdom that comes along with age. Nemo has learned the advantages of being a one person dog. If you and Nemo hit it off, you will never find a companion more trustworthy or deserving of your love. You will certainly have his undivided devotion. This boy is into living life’s adventures one hundred percent…loving those long walks, sweet treats, and mutual hugs and kisses. That said, he also likes mellow time with his one and only…nothing like sharing a couch together in companionable silence or a quiet sit down in the yard to commune with nature. Nemo’s past experiences makes him a little shy, at first, but, if you let him get to know you and trust you, his connection with you will be a bond forged in steel. Lovable, loving, faithful, and true – who could ask for anything more?

Leo is one handsome dude, with his glossy, smooth tricolored coat and boyish good looks. And that expression on his face? It’s Leo wondering if you’re the one who will take him home for a wonderful life together. Leo can just imagine those walks where you and he explore the adventures along the way and get your outdoor exercise — so healthy and fun for all! Then he pictures you both settled in afterward, relaxed on the couch, doing not much of anything.
A Treeing Walker Coonhound mix, now nine, Leo is hoping to get lucky — after being pretty unlucky for a while. He was rescued from a dog hoarder and taken in by Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals in Radnor. It’s been a long wait, but he’s still confident that someone will come along soon and see how special and deserving he is. He holds back at first until he gets to know you, but once you know Leo, you’re bonded forever. He loves his dear friends with all his heart.
His other favorite thing: after a walk, flopping lazily in the sun and falling asleep – he’s working on his tan! Leo is a great companion — sweet and delightfully goofy. When he runs, he looks like he’s all legs and makes the Francisvale volunteers who walk him laugh affectionately. Can’t you just see it? You and Leo? He’d like to be your only pet; so here’s hoping! Let’s get started!

You would be so impressed on A cedar tree is known for its beauty, strength, and resilience. Well, those are the very qualities you will find in our Cedar, a gorgeous lab mix. Almost ten years old, Cedar has sadly spent the majority of his life in and out of shelters. As a bright-eyed, happy-go-lucky pup, he ended up in a home full of boisterous behaviors, loud, scary noises, and utter chaos. As you can imagine, for an innocent, wee puppy these experiences were frighteni…ng, and memories of those times have left him kind of vulnerable – easily scared and anxious, so he needs a guardian angel who will understand his fears and love him unconditionally. It’s important for Cedar to be with an experienced caregiver who will protect him and help him to feel safe if the going gets rough. He just longs for the time when he will find his forever home – that special place for him where he will feel the unfailing love and protection of someone who has the compassion to understand his needs for stability, peace, and safety. Despite the fact that Cedar’s life has been challenging and disappointing for him as people have not always done right by him, he still has the optimism to believe that love conquers all. Although a bit shy at first, when you get to know Cedar, this boy will open up his heart to you – hugging, kissing, and wagging to beat the band. He just needs to be able to shine his light, and you will be dazzled by the beautiful soul that he is. Cedar has worked very hard to be the best boy he can be. He is an expert walker and handles the leash like a pro. He is exemplary at knowing cool things like “Sit” and “Stay”. He is a perfect gentleman around the house – laidback, playful, quiet, and dignified. Share a walk and some relaxed, quiet time with Cedar at Francisvale and get to know what a special boy he is. You won’t be sorry!
